Meta Knight's second in commands hard at work.
(Technically only Axe Knight is hinted at to be the leader, given he carries the title "Lord" in their German localized names while the other three are "Sir" [more about that here]; but in original Japanese media, the personal pronoun Mace Knight uses when speaking [source] "washi" is one usually used by old/seasoned men, which heavily implies he's much older than the rest of the crew. As such I imagine he occasionally steps in to keep them youngins in line. And to add; the personal pronoun Trident Knight uses in the light novels is "ore", which is informal, overly masculine, and associated with youth/confidence/arrogance/etc. [as explained to me by a light novel translator a few years back]. So he's seemingly the kid of their group :p)

In my headcanons, Mace Knight comes from Mekkai, so adjusting to life in Dream Land was a bit of a culture shock for him in some aspects...like the unique way friends share food.

two things, ive finished drawing (most) of the rest of the meta knights and tacked on sword and blade bc i thought it would be fun for them to fully be in the crew too
i also drew little unarmored versions for most of them aside from javelin and mace because those two are either a magic based automaton or a cyborg. axe is just bald, trident is a cloud of smog like sir kibble and falcata would be, sword knight is a bat based creature bc i thought it would be a fun reason for the helmet to be shaped like that (gotta have space for the ears), and blade knight is based on a spider because lil spider paws was a cute idea to me, and bug blade is a fun concept overall. they just have a decorative plume on their helmet is all. sailor dee is also just bald without the hat. tho its less armor and more of a signifier of who they are
