For years I used to think that Adam/The Creature was in essence the same being as the criminal his brain had belonged to (indeed which part houses the soul, Victor?).

Now, in the GDT version the Creature is similar to a newborn - pure and innocent and learning how everything around him works.

But... that implies that the shopkeeper that Victor was displaying during his disciplinary tribunal in 1855… actually was just as pure and innocent and newborn-like. For the brief and painful time hooked up to those small batteries...

Same for 'the man with the strong back' when Victor figured out the symmetry issue.
