Yuri x Reader vs. The Inspector x Reader
You were a student of medicine and science.
Nothing had meant more to you than your schooling, your work, your future. So you'd worked hard, and gotten into Darkwick, one of the most prestigious schools.
Then your world began to fall apart as you slowly found yourself falling for your new Captain. Then, your world crumbled even more when the Honour Student, the cursed Inspector MC, began coming around to work as Yuri's new assistant.
Now, you found yourself with your heart torn, between the effortlessly kind Honour student, and your shy and dedicated Captain.
The biggest problem though, you weren't even sure if either of them felt a thing for you in return.

You made your way through the lab, your research papers clutched close to your chest as you searched for the familiar teal haired male.
You found him, hunched over one of his desks. All your fellow General students usually avoided your dorm Captain, but not you. You admired him, his mind, and how brilliant he truly was.
"Captain...Yuri?" You called tentatively, making him look up and glance over to you. "I um, wanted to ask if, when you have the time, if you could look over my research and tell me what you think." You held out the papers in your hands towards him.
"What makes you think I have the time?!" He huffed, though he did reach out and take the papers from you. "Why do you even want me to read through?!"
"Because you're brilliant and your opinion would mean the world to me. You'd see mistakes I couldn't." You replied honestly. His face turned beat red as he began to sputter, unable to find words.
You giggled softly and smiled sweetly at him. "You're cute when you blush like that." You hummed, making his face only do darker.
"Wh-you-ugh- just- GO BACK TO YOUR WORK!" He sputtered out.
"Yes Captain. But please, do read my research if you get the time." You replied, before slipping away, a happy smile on your face.

Later that day, you were sitting in the lab studying for your classes, when you heard somebody approaching you.
"Would you like some tea?" MC asked, smiling at you when you turned around to face her.
You blushed and smiled back at her. "Yes, please I'd actually really love some. You didn't have to go out of your way for me though." You replied.
"It's no trouble, I was already getting some for Yuri anyway, and you're always so kind to me I thought you'd like some too." She replied.
"You're too kind." You replied, taking the cup that she offered out to you. She smiled at you, and you smiled back happily.
"Are you...busy tomorrow?" She asked suddenly, and you looked at her in surprise before shaking your head.
"No, why?"
"It's just...with everything going on around here and...my curse...I think I could really use a day to just...be with a friend you know?..A day to just, forget everything and relax..." She admitted softly. You could see the hidden worry in her gaze, but you didn't want to press it too hard.
"A day out would be really nice. I'm happy to be the friend to help you just...feel normal again if that's what you want." You soothed.
She nodded, tears pricking the edges of her eyes before she wiped them away. "I would really really like that."
You smiled at her. "Well then, it's a date." You replied, before blushing. "I mean- not like a date-date...just..a..yeah..you know what I meant." You stammered. She smiled and laughed softly.
"I know what you mean." She giggled. She got up to leave, tea tray in hand before she paused, a look of worry creasing her brow. "Do you think...I don't think I'm the only one who needs a friend and a break.." She said softly.
"What do you mean?"
"Yuri has been working himself so hard trying to make a cure for me and I...maybe he needs a break too..."
"We should take him with us...If you're okay with that." You suggested.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive, Yuri is most worthy of a break after you are. We'll make him take a day off too."
She nodded and smiled brightly at you, "It's a double date then." She teased before she headed out. You blushed and watched her go, heart racing in anticipation.
You were going to have a day out with both of your crushes. Oh, that was going to be one hell of a day.

The next day, you were surprised when you went to meet up with MC to see Yuri was actually there. You were amazed that she actually convinced him to leave the lab for the day.
As you walked up, both of their gazes turned towards you, and you blushed lightly, smiling shyly.
"So, what's the plan for the day?" You asked.
"Hmph, I still don't see the point of dragging me away from my work for this." Yuri huffed, though he produced a R & R permit. "Tch, apparently it sounded like a good idea for me to "get out" so it was no issue to get one of these approved."
"Because you do need to get out, even Jiro agreed." MC huffed before she turned to you and smiled "We are going out to the city to just, have fun, go where the spirit takes us."
You smiled back at her, missing the glance Yuri cast between you and MC before he scowled and looked away.
"Sounds great! Let's get going then!" You cheered. MC beamed and led the way onto the galaxy express, you and Yuri following behind her.
When you got onto the train, you sat down first and MC pressed up close to your one side. Yuri hesitated, and at your urging of patting the seat next to you, he sat there, though he kept some space between you.
You chatted with MC the ride in, and occasionally Yuri would pipe up and add to the conversation as well. It warmed your heart to see him starting to slowly relax.
When the train stopped at the station, you and Yuri followed MC out into the city. Neither of you knew what destination she had in mind, but you both followed after her without question. Even Yuri, despite how much he'd complained about being dragged out of the lab, he seemed to thrive in the fresh air.
MC led you both around through various stores, just checking out the items within, laughing and chatting, pretending for a time that you three were just, normal students. Not a ghoul, a student trained to face horrors unknown, and a cursed inspector. You were just, people.
Eventually, through your walking, your stomach began to growl. "Hey, think we can stop for some lunch?" You suggested.
"Oh yeah, lunch would be really good actually." MC agreed, stopping and looking around. "Where do you guys suggest?"
"I'm good with anywhere. Captain? Do you have anywhere you want to go?" You asked, turning to look at the doctor.
Yuri blushed slightly as both your and MC's attentions turned to him. "Tch, I know a good place." He huffed, leading the two of you.
You both followed after him to a good spot to eat. MC offered to hold down a table outside while you and Yuri went inside to order the food.
"You can just call me by my name you know, you don't have to call me Captain everytime." Yuri mumbled softly as you both got into line. You turned and smiled warmly at him.
"Okay Yuri." You hummed, making him blush and look away. "Thank you, by the way, for actually coming along. I like hanging out with you and MC." You watched as his blush grew even worse, and he was saved from having to think of a reply by your turn to order coming up.
After lunch, you all continued on your day around the town. You and Yuri picking some of the stops as well. By the time to head back to Darkwick came, you were all exhausted, but happy. Even Yuri looked more relaxed than you'd seen him in a long time.
Back at the school, you and Yuri escorted MC back to the cathedral. When there, she pulled you into a tight crushing hug.
"Thank you so much for today. It meant so much to me, and I'm so happy you came with me." She whispered, and it warmed your heart, a faint blush rising to your cheeks as you hugged her back.
"Of course, I loved the day out with you." You replied. She leaned back and smiled warmly at you, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek that left you blushing even worse. She moved and hugged Yuri too before bidding you both goodnight and heading inside.
This time, you caught the odd look in Yuri's eyes as he'd watched MC kiss your cheek. You almost thought it looked like…jealousy, but then she'd been hugging him, and you let the notion drop.
Following Yuri back to Mortkranken, you both walked in comfortable silence. When you reachd your dorm and had to turn separate ways, your voice calling for him stopped Yuri in his tracks.
"Yuri?"
"Yes what is it?"
You moved and hugged him tightly. You felt him stiffen as he blushed darkly. "Thank you again for coming today. It wouldn't have been as fun without you."
"Yes…well…I…" Yuri stammered, "I needed a break away from my work anyway to see it with fresh eyes now…so…bye!" He pulled away and practically ran off to the lab. Laughing softly to yourself, you made your way to your room.
When you got to your room, you paused, seeing your research papers, the ones you'd given to Yuri to read over, were sitting neatly on your desk. Atop them was a small sticky note with handwriting you knew instantly as being Yuri's.
'You're brilliant, and your work reflects this. You don't need my opinion to know that, so learn your worth! - Dr. Yuri Isami'
You felt your cheeks heat up reading his praise. Clutching the note close to your chest, thoughts of your day, of Yuri and MC swarmed through your mind.
After today, you knew you had to tell one of them how you felt. The only real question was, who did you want more?
