ISB Supervisor Captain Lagret I apologise to you, I only now understand how intelligent you are and why you're one of the smartest the ISB will ever see.

He's a middle ranking Supervisor who goes with the flow, does his job well enough to retain his rank and not get demoted, but not well enough to get promoted.

Because Supervisors who are keen and hungry get killed [Heert] or eaten up by the machine they spend their lives fixing and improving [Dedra]. And officers who are high enough to be entrusted with some secrets are punished if those below them fail [Partagaz].

Lagret isn't surprised that Partagaz wants some time alone. He knows what Partagaz is about to do to himself, because they both know the system they work for is merciless and won't ever truly look out for them.

Lagret walks a line finer than Dedra ever did. And he's still going.

I’m dying to know how Krennic is perceived within the ISB. Do they respect and revere him or do they just think he’s lame like Tarkin and the rest of the Empire’s top brass do?

I love how Dedra Meero is all, “Can I count on your discretion?”, but really what she is saying is, “I am counting on you getting caught so that this gets blown wide open, and as a result, we have a very very uncomfortable ISB meeting where I get to lay out all of my cards and subsequently be vindicated for my extreme vigilance and initiative.”

She’s totally terrifying.

ANDOR SEASON 2

I'm finally caught up and yeahhh, it's something! Proper posts to follow, but [spoilers for all the episodes so far, 1-6]

✅️ SYRIL AND DEDRA! The domesticity. The lies. Dinner with Eedy. Eedy and her spider friend to keep her company.

✅️ Attendant Heert! First a Supervisor role and then a fancy party, he's living a dream beyond his fantasies.

✅️ Loni playing things well with Partagaz, Heert and Lagret. Cultivating his circle of [2] friends for information.

✅️ Partagaz having to deal with Syril and Heert foaming at the mouth over their jobs. It would be adorable if he wasn't riddled with job stress himself.

✅️ Dr. Gorst and his little cake. A nice comforting treat to get through long days and nights torturing people in a new office away from your friends.

✅️ Dr. Gorst choking on his own medicine. What a way to go. Bix you deserved that win.

❌️ Releasing 3 episodes a week. It's bad enough the timescale is so compressed. This show is meant to be savored.

❌️ Cinta. She deserved more backstory, more screentime, more everything.

Imagining the look on Syril’s face when he's finally - finally - allowed into the hallowed chambers of the ISB to meet with his deity Dedra, dressed to perfection in his brown suit, and sees Mosk strolling past him in the corridor whistling, happy, hands in his pockets, decked out in the uniform of an Imperial Attendant. Mosk is genuinely delighted to see his friend and old boss. Syril feels cold and hollow and swallows back that familiar nauseous feeling of things not being fair, of not being right.

Day 3: Favorite Arc/Episode // Themes

Cassian and Kino’s shifting power at the start of the episode. Kino jumps to obey On Program and tries to drag Cassian into falling into line as well. And Cassian fights back, both physically and verbally, refusing to be put into position by Kino and arguing that tomorrow is when they need to break out. Affected by Cassian’s logic and conviction - by his power and lack of panic - Kino falls quiet and backs down. Cassian strides to the door and adopts the On Program stance. He reminds Kino to do the same. And Kino follows his lead.

Dedra offers Partagaz the datapad she’s read the ruined ship and pilot status from. She’s presenting proof that her idea worked. She’s giving Partagaz the cold hard data he’s been teaching her to provide. But Partagaz doesn’t take the datapad from her. Because Dedra’s word is now good enough for him. He doesn’t need to confirm what she’s said by checking the datapad. He knows that Dedra’s taken his advice, and will always back up her arguments, propositions and results with evidence. He trusts her. He likes her.

Partagaz also trusts Lonni. He accepts Lonni’s verbal suggestion as to how to proceed with the ruined ship. Lonni may struggle to hit his detention numbers, but Partagaz values Lonni’s contributions. Lonni responds by giving Partagaz’s back a lingering look of disgust.

The facility announcer in the command center is just a regular Imperial worker with a natural voice that's the opposite of formidable. The first shot of him is of his back, and when he turns around he's shown to be nondescript and forgettable.
