Shard of Caliburn (18-Point Quality)
Several people are running around all claiming that they are wielding Excalibur. They can’t all be doing so, right? Well, yes and no.
Caliburn, before the French decided to fancy it up, was broken and its shards were quickly re-worked into several other swords. With Merlin’s aid, each one retained a majority of the Power of Excalibur, but sometimes in different ways.
Primarily, all Shards of Excalibur are Holy weapons, granting a +1 to Getting Medieval and deal +2 damage per SL in their strikes. They can also be used to Parry incoming spells as though the wielder had Magic or Innate Magic. When striking monsters and demons, it can count as meeting the requirements of their weaknesses, including Unique Kill, and 1/5ths armor before it. However, this is only when it is wielded by someone Worthy (Honorable: Serious or more). Otherwise, it’s just a very good sword.
Most Shards of Excalibur are hand-a-half swords, meaning they deal 4 x Strength Slash/Stab one-handed, and 4 x Strength+1 when two-handed.
The original Scabbard to Caliburn also stopped people from bleeding out (1/2 Slash/Stab Damage). Having that applied to the sword adds 5 points to the cost.
