Oh to be a pebble on the shore,
near Aphroditê’s sea
to be so gently brushed and held
as waves wash over me
To be a distant light,
shining brightly in the evening sky
one of countless stars of heaven
found in Leta’s twinkling eye
And oh to be a droplet,
in the bright and restless clouds
a single note within an orchestra
that Zeus crashes to the ground
- to be a singing anvil,
- - to be a burning hearth
- - - to be a brand new moon
- - - - shining brightly in the dark
- - - - to be a growing cornstalk
- - - to be the shaking ground
- - to be a shining rainbow
- with its colors all abound
To be a loving mother
to be a shining day
to knowing that the light inside
will never go away
- The Light Inside; a Hymn to the Theoi by Aön Re
( I wrote this out of devotion to the Theoi but now I kind of want to make it into a HelPol children’s book??? )
