If I could do one offshoot of A Pair of Strangers (Noblesse), then I would make Franken's offer come true. Rai takes his offer and runs away with him. Franken leaves his insipid land and those insipid people to die. Rai abandons Lukedonia and being Noblesse and they both shed themselves of responsibiliy.
This will avert the greatest tragedy and premise of Noblesse - Rai is not betrayed by the Clan Leaders, does not fight his friend Muzaka, and does not end up so mortally injured he goes into sleep for 820 years. Franken and Rai live their life for 820 years happily and freely.
...But this means Regis and Seira do not care about humans. M-21, Takeo and Tao's lives in the Union go infiintely worse. There is no Yeran High. And in the 21st century, mutants run rife, and the only way for humans to gain an iota of control in this terrible future is to turn to either physical modification or a slaving contract with a noble.
So instead of worrying about studying, Shinwoo and co are living in like in some post-apocalyptic vampire-infested world, because of this alternate Noblesse history where Franken never changed Lukedonian attitudes to humans, and Rai never used his status as Noblesse to legitimise that change.
