Lmao so someone said the adaptation of Pokémon’s red’s original fight music was like really really good in the anime. It really is! Which I never noticed because it’s usually drowned out by that hammy kids show voice acting (which I fully loved at the time btw). It’s a full orchestra with some rock elements and It has a ton of weight and punch. Plus I had to stop and think how this is possibly the first time anyone interpreted that whirring of the start of the game encounter and decided to do it as strings. Pretty much any time a team takes a gameboy bit track and has to flesh it out instrumentally is so amazing to me. This ost reminds me of the original sailor moon anime soundtrack of the same era, also super underrated and gorgeous, with some 70s rock vibes.
