i saw Steven Wilson on saturday it was an amazing show, i will now walk around with a do not disturb sign as i listen to depressing prog rock while staring into the void until it absorbs me

Steven Wilson is the testament that it's still possible to make music with modern production techniques that sounds interesting and new and prog, and I hate how he he was discouraged by the boring ass un-proggy "prog" fandom to go back to more 70s vibed "prog" rock.

I liked the new album, but it was such an obvious response to this debacle (I mean it consists of two 18-21 minutes song and was clearly inspired by Yes and Pink Floyd!) and I don't like it when artists compromise their vision because of fan or journalist response...

An Overview Effect is an original story by @shelleyduvallsfaerietaletheatre , set in a maybe not-so-distant future which seems to tow the line between utopian and post-apocalyptic.

Sci-fi, in part affectionate parody, in other parts cosmic/existential horror.............somewhere between Event Horizon and Galaxy Quest? I'm sure somewhere in there is more or less what I'm aiming for!

Steven Wilson either makes albums that I find alright, maybe like some songs or something, but I have no strong feelings towards them... or the greatest albums that I've ever heard in my whole life.
