some of my favorite characters ever are ones so easily paralleled.

Ryan Butcher, very powerful to the point where he hates it and himself. He has an abusive father who has done and is doing horrible things that he wants more than ever to not be like. His father views him an an extension of himself and therefore views THEM both as better than the rest of humanity. + its his fault his mom died (accident) + hl beat him up

Jack Kline, the most powerful being in the universe apart from god at some points but he is untrained and scared to keep hurting people like he's done before. His father comes into his life for a short period and is very manipulative and sly, he has done and is doing terrible things. Jack wants to be nothing like him. His father views him an an extension of himself and therefore views THEM both as better than the rest of.. everything really. + its his fault his mom died (accident) + lucifer beat him up

This can also be said about Mark Grayson!! (mostly..) but I don't know much about invincible..

There can also be some connections made to steven universe (woah hold on) with the non human too powerful wants to not hurt people thing! and the desperate need of separation from parents actions, and need to not repeat them in the future! everyone else sort of views him as annoying extension of his mom and many view him as better than humanity because he is a diamond! he caused his mom's "death" (all her, but nontheless)
