There was something of a joke at the academy about hiding pots and pans around the desert and sending new historians on wild grouse chases to find them, but the dedication it would have taken to go underground into the ruins of a long-abandoned structure was taking the prank a bit too far.
"Who could be that dangerous that they need all this pomp and circumstance just to hold them?"
She turned around, holding her luminous-stone lantern aloft. A few sand-rusted chains, the marks of beasts who had made the prison their home, however temporarily, and the flaking paint of script that was becoming more difficult to interpret by the minute.
