Talking about ships. Here. My first ship ever.
Srsly I saw this movie when I was like five years old on an american chanel my mom happened to find on the cable, and although I didn't understand a word from it, I fell in love. Lucky for me my mom also got to record it and it had closed captions so I pretty much practiced my english rewatching it, no matter that the topic is a Christmas themed one. I used to replay it and replay it until I found it again and actually bought the dvd LOL.
Anyway, he animation could be a bit not pristine, but let me tell you why I adore this movie:
Although the title is destined to the male protagonist, as well as it is in the book, it is Clara the protagonist, and all her decisions MATTER.
This particular scene is my favorite, not only for the building it has matching perfectly along the beautiful Tchaikovsky piece on the moods of the characters, but Clara OMG how much of a influence she's been.
Here she's getting the best fairy tale ending with the prince and the ball and the everything and what she says? No!!!!
And not because she doesn't like the guy, SHE DOES!! A LOT!! but she is her own individual, and has dreams of her own to fulfill. She wants not a fairy tale, but reality and THAAAT is a perfect female lead in my opinion.
And omg Hans is such a humble and kind boy. And that voice to boot come on...
AND THAT ENDING. GOD.
