ted roswell:

his devotion to his home town could be misconstrued as a love for tradition, but ted couldn’t care less about preserving town traditions or the great history ingrained in the buildings he passes ever day - he’s much more interested in what the future holds for the town, but he has to make sure that he can keep the residents on his side before he makes too many rash decisions

is well aware that his approach to the matter is a little unconventional, but doesn’t regret a single decision he’s made to get himself to where he is today - all that matters is that he gets to his goal, regardless of the sacrifices he had to make along the way - ethics, morals, lives...they’d all pale into insignificance once his plan came into fruition

has a terrible temper that he likes to hide from the press for the sake of his good reputation among the town’s residents - all his employees feel they have to constantly walk on egg shells around him, especially those in the lab - and god forbid you’re around him when he notices a scuff on his cowboy boots...

meredith roswell:

with her husband being the town mayor she’s not left with a great deal of responsibility in the marriage other than keeping the house clean and making sure that there’s a meal on the table - she wishes she could do more to help, but he’s so closed off about his work that she’s just stopped trying to get involved 

her copious amounts of free time are usually spent socialising though; she loves talking to the neighbours and frequently arranges book club meetings or tea mornings to get together with other residents in the area - she often tries to pass on her observations to ted for what they think the town needs, but he never takes any notice of her

is growing more and more suspicious of ted’s restless behaviour and private meetings - all that time cooped up in the house gives her more opportunities to rifle through the documents he dumps in his office or the basement and the more information she’s beginning to gather, the more her concern is growing - she can’t let any harm come to her beloved residents, even if it means the expense of her husband, or at least his position of power...
