Story/Playthrough Idea: The Ruby Emperor (Pokémon Ruby 'Groudonlocke')
Hiya followers! ^_^ I've been thinking of doing a 'Nuzlocke' style run of Pokémon Ruby and this is the proposition I came up with. The rules/objectives in mind for my set are:
-Defeat the Emperor and become Ruler of Hoenn (Pokémon League)
-Groudon must be kept alive. If Groudon dies, the run is over.
-The playthrough has a 'medieval' Japan style theme to it and as such, there are no such things as trainers (The strongest Pokémon of a trainer is considered a 'chieftain' of a tribe, gyms are referred to as castles and their strongest Pokémon is considered that castle's 'Daimyo', Team Magma's Pokémon are part of the 'Golden Hoard' and Steven's Metagross is the Emperor of Hoenn), Pokémon Centres are called Inns and Pokemarts are called Markets.
-Upon defeating each 'Daimyo', the Daimyo or one of the castle's Pokémon may be 'hired' into the team.
-The standard Groudon in the Cave of Origin must be killed, because having two Groudons in one timeline is pretty bad news.
-Otherwise, the other golden rule of Nuzlocke stands: The only Pokémon apart from Pokémon gained by defeating a Daimyo must be the first Pokémon found on a route of that species.
If there's enough interest, 'The Ruby Emperor' will be occasionally posted on the blog as I progress through the challenge. Like this idea if you want to see me suffer.
