This is my NaNo project right now, as-of-now officially titled The Second Death. So while I have a bunch of words written, they’re not polished yet and I’m not ready to go back and search for a good excerpt. I’ll probably post snippets eventually, but for now, this is the blurb I have on my project page on the NaNo website:

Jelene has a crush on her best friend. Her best friend has a crush on a ghost. Naturally, the only solution is for Jelene to forge a psychic bond with the ghost and help her friend investigate a murder that may or may not have even happened. It's not like she has anything better to do, like homework. Or avoiding the violent spirit haunting Apparition's Roost. What's the worst that could happen?
