Small Rant About “The Second Eye™️”
One art thing I learned but don’t really remember acknowledging learning is that the pain and frustration of the eyes not being the same is so un-needed? Like, they should only be identical if it’s front on and on a symmetrical character which,,, generally isn’t realistic?
So at some point in my drawing development I let myself draw the eyes differently because the character was facing at an angle and it worked,,, and I feel like this is something newer artists need to know??
There’s so much relatable talk about the pain of doing the second eye because it never looks like the first and that’s such a thing in the art community that new artists may try too hard to get the eyes the same and upon failure will tell themselves it alright because more experienced artists still aren’t getting it so why keep trying?
I just feel it’s something we need to acknowledge,, that the second eye doesn’t have to be the same, whether it be due to angles or nature’s asymmetry.
