The Power and Love of Scrutiny

To address the hateful people and unnecessarily hateful words ... You are clearly NOT a writer.

As a writer myself, having readers who scrutinize and obsess over my words, my meaning, and my narrative, is never, and will never, be an insult.  In fact, it is the greatest praise that exists to us because it serves to keep us honest.

I have shed painful tears, vast amounts of my own time, and my heart has ached over the hundreds of thousands of words that I give freely to you all and, for anyone to think, that reinterpretation or scrutiny of a story is accepted with anything less than UTTER appreciation should be ashamed of themselves.  A reader’s scrutiny is the only thing that serves to reinforce their adoration for my story.

To imply that a reader’s analysis is anything less than treasure to a writer is sheer ignorance.

Do you know what I find interesting about the season finale?

No one has posting any screecap, gifset, or even a video about Quinlan's death.

No one.

The only pic I have seen aluding the scene was one on instagram showing a wonded Quinlan during his fight with the Master. But even that is not as explicit as showing a video or gifset of The Master crushing Q's head. And I have not seen anything about it in any social media, at least not yet.

And I think that says a lot about what is the fandom's opinion about it all.

I think that I speak for everyone when I say FINALLY!! I know I'm going to hell with this, but I also know that all of you will end up there with me, hehehehe.

@5thinvictus Your chapter was incredible, full of emotions, full of things that we've been waiting for for a hundred chapters, and I'm not just talking about the obvious. You've been talking to me about The Cabin Scene™ for a long time, you were telling me you were insecure about the chapter. Girl, the chapter was wonderful, incredible, amazing, so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, I don’t know how you do it, and I do not think I have adjectives to describe it, and I think everyone who reads your fic will agree with me.

I know it's not the end of the fic (and when I say I know, it's because I know it) and many more things await us in the future. This was meant to be a valentin gift for readers, but I know it's a birthday gift too, because you've done, as always, a great job and I know that writing such things is incredibly stressful. Relax a few days, take a break, take care of yourself, you deserve it.

I think if it had not been for you, I would not have drawn so many things these last months. You have inspired me with your fic to draw things that I had not thought to draw before, or I did not have the courage to draw because I could not find inspiration. And I have to confess, because I have not told you before, your fic is the only one besides mine, in which I have contributed.

Happy Birthday, and may your imagination always be on your side.
