1/18/26.
I know I've said it a lot, but this blog has really added so much to my musical bank of knowledge. Take this release from Cleveland, Ohio based band Mirrors. First, thanks to Bandcamp user/band Toads (posted 3/8/21) for buying this so it came across my feed. I'm really looking forward to listening to more of their catalogue.
The first thing I read on the Bandcamp page was "The final album of new recordings by the legendary Cleveland proto-punk/psych/power pop group Mirrors." Well, that's an attention-grabbing sentence. Mirrors have been arounds since the 1970s and AllMusic describes one of their releases as a wonderful cross between The Velvet Underground, Pere Ubu and The dB's. I kind of feel like other midwestern bands like Dumptruck, Big Dipper and The Embarrassment must have also listened to Mirrors.
Members of Mirrors were also in Electric Eels, Rocket from the Tombs, The Styrenes and New Salem Witch Hunters. This LP is being issued by Something Pushed Records (Cleveland, Ohio).
