Just finished Beyond The Bar and I have so many thoughts.

My dad (who is a lawyer) and I (who grew up around it) find it beautifully written and very realistic in many ways. Like they said in the show, the law is not only to punish, and a trial is not a win-or-lose situation. There is so much more that happens there, and they treated it beautifully.

There are many parallels and metaphors that were worked into perfection. Just, it was amazing.

I would highly suggest people watch it.

Like his other kids, Lola has a complicated relationship with Remy. They were close for the first few years of her life until him and her mom broke up (they didn’t get married btw) and he seemed to disappear off the face of the Earth until she was 10. When he came back into all his kids lives only Eugene let him in, Lucy and Lola both shut him out for awhile. Besides, Lola even knew Eiji better, and him and Juliette had been dating only awhile when Remy got back. She only agreed to see him again when Lucy did, cause she trusted her judgement more than anyone’s in this situation. They’re okay now, they’re not super close or anything but they don’t fight anymore. And Juliette’s still kinda pissed he ditched all his kids, but they’re also back to being friends so they’re all cool with each other now
