I have yet to hear anybody or even Black Wicked fans more specifically talk about the parallels of colorism and favoritism to real life in the Thropp family dynamic. Granted, all animosity toward Elphie purely stems from the fact that she's green so if she was just Cynthia's natural complexion, it wouldn't be there. I've also wondered if Frexspar ever had an inkling that she wasn't *his* child and an otherwise normal birth would've made it easier to sweep under the rug but her hue up on birth made it un-ignorable.

I'm just applying the latter to the movie and musical, in the book Frexspar sees Elphie has a punishment for read the book reasons 🤙🏿
