The Oriole was the predecessor to our current Towerlight, but it was more like a literary magazine than a student newspaper. Here’s the first front page from almost 100 years ago.
On this day in 1972, this was the back-up plan for folks who hadn’t taken the brand-new opportunity of registering for classes by mail. Innovation at its finest!
By: Megan Graves, Columnist Reverse racism is a term I’ve been hearing a lot lately, despite the numerous articles that have already emerged saying it doesn’t exist. So, I will say it again. Revers...
I’m so happy that The Towerlight finally published a piece that celebrates the experiences and voices of the Muslim community at Towson University!

The Towerlight is featuring a column about feminism this fall, by student Megan Graves.
“Feminism is a movement that actively works to help women gain equality with men. We don’t want to be, or think we are, any better than men, we just want to have the same type of basic rights that men have. For example: equal pay, rights to our uteruses, and for the love of all that is good, no more slut-shaming. Women like sex too, you know.
Some of the more serious problems that the movement addresses include objectification, sexual assault and violence toward women. These things are unfair and frightening, to say the least, and feminists want to put an end to them.”
Towson University's student newspaper, "The Towerlight" interviews Jenny Owen Youngs before her performance at an Everyone Is Gay event.
