There’s a post making the rounds of “dapper” Martin Freeman roles. I think it’s from Amazon in some fashion and showcasing the movies and shows available through them. But one role that’s not included is the short film “The Voorman Problem,” and that’s frankly criminal given the topic.

LOOK AT HIM. All baby-faced with his clean-cut suit and glasses and confused and/or disbelieving little expression. He’s just adorable. Also the short packs a wallop for all it’s under fifteen minutes. Ridiculously cute, and ridiculously good. I know it’s on Amazon and I think Apple TV if you want to check it out.

*Some trivia about The Voorman Problem:

A short film of 13 mins total run time, was filmed in 2009 over 3 days. 

Kevin Spacey was asked to play Voorman, couldn’t commit and recommended Tom Hollander, who in turn recommended MF. 

Both leads worked for free to help the project get made. 

Adapted from "Panopticon", a film within a story from the novel number9dream. 

Debuted at Warsaw Film Festival 2011, UK release in 2013. 

Nominated for Academy Award in Best Live Action Short Film and a BAFTA for Best Short Film in 2013. 

They basically managed to cast MF pre-Sherlock and Hobbit fame, got him to work for free, and released TVP when his face was everywhere for both of those projects. Talk about free publicity lol.

Anyway if you haven’t seen it, go watch it on youtube. It mindfucks you in 10 minutes. Just brilliant.
