I love Downpour to bits, it was what go me into Rain World to begin with, I just wish that people would also like base game and Watcher as much as they liked Downpour.

Don't get me wrong, Downpour definitely paved the way for the Watcher to even exist, but there's a stark contrast from the fanworks done with Downpour than with Watcher.

#I believe Watcher's disastrous release definitely harmed its reputation near irreparably #And even now with 1.5 I would honestly still consider it somewhat incomplete (albeit this is due to some personal biases)#It's just a little disappointing to see so much hype behind watchers release and then very little fandom to back it up #Rain world #The watcher 1.5

WATCHER ART GO!!

I like to think Watcher post apotheosis! a lot, especially as a character, I imagine a side effect of them not originally being a worm, but rather, becoming one is that they still retain... I guess their humanity? If that makes sense...? Let me explain

I imagine The wormborn are, and always were "divine" (or as divine as you can get in the rain world universe) the void sea and guiding others is what they know, however, they don't know what it's like to have lived a "mortal" life outside of that.I like to imagine Watcher still has their memories, even from before apotheosis, they remember huddling up against their mother, hearing the rain pour, they remember crying out to their sibling to not themself in danger

They remember losing them.

They remember their misadventures with Spinning Top, they remember what it was like when they first gained their powers

They remember meeting prince, being called a friend.

They remember weaver teaching them how to sew warp points shut...

They remember what life before wormhood was like, what it was like to know struggle, fear, *mortality*... And to be honest? While they seldom feel such things anymore, it isn't like the concepts of such emotions ever fell from what they can imagine, either...Hopefully that makes sense HSHXHDHF,, I love Watcher...
