AndrewGames722 is 100% one of my Top 3 ARGs, and recently 'Don't Turn Left at the Crossroads' (for lack of a better name) has found its way up there as well. LITERALLY TODAY (Nov 30th), I finally watched the vids abt it.
But, as I'm insane, I used my two living brain cells and picked out VERY vague parallels between AnGa722 & DTLCR.
SO, LET ME COOK.
And note, little to none of this makes any actually sense.
Because, again, I'm insane.
Also spoiler warnings for the endings and lore of BOTH ARGs. (Mostly AnGa lore =p)
SO, SO, SO-
One of the biggest points of sfawtde is the fact that D3rLord3 essentially sacrificed themself to warn Avery &, by proxy, everyone to ever view the footage. And they did so not once, BUT twice.
(Because remember, kids; he had to edit in that censor bar over the footage of when he saw the King.)
*Now, one of the bigger/final points of AnGa722 was The Reflection/The Palladium/John, along with the others, sacrificing himself to ensure that Andrew/072216 (and SS13??) escaped the simulation. And not just that, but to destroy 62020 and 46 Intel entirely so that no one else would end up imprisoned.
So, my point is,
while under severely different circumstances,
both ARGs carry a theme of a character (or in AnGa case, characters) committing self sacrifice for the sake of others.
But I do find this interesting.
Because for The Reflection, it was a matter of him using his limited ability (as he too was imprisoned) to aid Nicholas & the DoomStriders in taking down 46 Intel. He'd been trapped long before due to his long standing rivalry with 62020 and his previous attempts at taking down the orgnisation/cult.
D3rLord3, on the other hand, was simply a player who noticed something funny about their world and chose to investigate it.
So, outside of the self-sacrifice stuff, if I were to truly compare/parallel D3rLord3 to an AndrewGames character,
it'd have to Alexander.
Because Alexander worked for 46 Intel, just like Andrew and Nicholas (Alex's brother) had.
He was the one that questioned 62020's true motives.
He was the one who went to investigate, to find the truth.
He was the one who discovered 46 Intel's true plans.
And he was the one that suffered for it (bro dieded =/).
D3rLord3 sacrificed their sanity (and possibly his life) to learn what was going on & warn others to not venture into the world.
And Alex sacrificed his life to figure out 62020's true ideals and what ultimately prompted Nicholas' rebellion that led to 46 Intel's demise.
And these characters had to make these sacrifices to prevent others from meeting the same, or worse, fates.
AND their curiosity was ultimately the catalysts for BOTH of their stories.
Huh
Funny how that works.
*Astrix on that bit since it's very possible that AndrewGames is meant to be symbolic or metaphorical. However, I'm not sure and in this post I take its story as literal.
Also, I refer to D3rLord3 with he/they because I don't see him as a guy. From what Ik, neither them nor Avery have confirmed genders. So, as far as I'm aware, those mfs are just pixels on a screen. Plus, it's not like gender or pronouns is relevant to the stories anyway =p
OKAY,
end of insane/nonsensible ramblings.
This was just a ploy to spread AndrewGames722 propaganda/j
