I don’t think ambiguous ending is something that we need to be celebrating, is it good for the fandom and fanworks? yes. do i like it? partially. but we should not be acting like it’s the best case scenario as it’s still queerbait, ambiguous or not. queer people should not settle for the bare minimum to make straight people more comfortable and the duffer brothers should be held accountable for the way they treated their queer fans and refused to acknowledge the rampant homophobia that was and still is going on with the general audience. byler being ambiguous is not good, it’s still a form of queerbait and a cheap tactic to try and keep both straight and queer audiences as to not lose money.

on a more positive note, ambiguous byler is good for the fandom and creativity!! but we shouldn’t just be ok with the bare minimum, queer people deserve better.
