I'm curious on what are your thoughts on the Amell/Surana and Zevran pairing. Something about the pairing of a mage living a secluded life until becoming a Grey Warden and a former Antivan Crow feels very appealing to me.
I think that Amell/Surana and Zevran have a lot in common as well.
Amell/Surana was taken from their family/home/everything they knew as a child when their magic manifested, and Zevran was bought by the Crows when he was seven years old, from the brothel he grew up in and the closest thing to a family he ever had
They were then trained and tested by the people who now essentially and literally owned them to suit their needs, along with other children in the same situation as they were in
Training and testing that involves seeing said other children die around them, and risking death themselves if they failed
Running away from the people who owned them was to also risk death; Amell/Surana was destined to forever remain a mage in service to the Chantry, and Zevran was destined to forever remain an assassin in service to the Crows, until their deaths
Zevran subsequently developed very little self-worth and depression, something Amell/Surana may very well struggle with as well
But finding each other, and finding their own freedom, is the best thing that ever happens to them - in Zevran’s case, literally saving his life
What Zevran went through was undoubtedly worse, but all these things do have similarities. And I feel like they are things that Amell/Surana and Zevran could talk about together and understand each other the best someone could outside of actually experiencing the same lives.
@the-hawkster look once you google ‘las vegas street lights’ and paste it onto the background, some lighting happens. maybe you go a little too hard on the lighting. over do what should be a simple drawing. i don’t regret it.
Kate gave me lots of mass effect vibes so my Shepard is smooching her >u>
I noticed that in one of your Gaider critical posts that you were disappointed by Derek Watts. I'm curious if it has to do with the little debacle on 2012 where he expressed how "hard" it was to design Turian women
Yes. I don’t understand how someone whose job is to be creative and find solutions to problems has a brain freeze when he has to think about designing female aliens. He legit said ‘They’re all males in the game, we usually try and avoid the females because what do you do with a female turian? Do you give her breasts? What do you do? Put lipstick on her?'
How the hell… Sometimes I wonder what the games would look like if someone with more brain cells and with less misogyny had been in Watts’ place and had designed Mass Effect. We might get female aliens and children everywhere. Imagine.
Commission for @the-hawkster with his characters Lana "Iron Wolf" Vos and Kate "Hawk" Hawkins
Guess its several months late for a Mass Effect story of how I got into the trilogy, but I'd like to share to it anyway: Basically, I started with ME2 on Xbox 360, then got engrossed by the time I got the first two games on PC. Fell off from the franchise halfway through 2012. And then, just recently got back into the series few months ago after seeing amazing fan-content. You could say your amazing artwork was a huge factor of Mass Effect re-entering my life, so I owe you thanks for that. :D
I am so honored! So you never played ME3? Because I definitely recommend it and the Citadel DLC (okay maybe just all the DLC!)! I’m so happy you were sucked back into the series , it really is a wonderful game <3 Thank you for sharing :D
Okay, so first off, amazing art, I fucking love them and I love your Gun in my Hand Fallout video. And if I may ask, is military sci-fi within your comfort zone? I ask this in case you still do commissions. I hope you have a lovely day
Hello! Yes, I'm alright with military sci-fi. Anything with military/combat aesthetic. I will consume and rattle you /pos /affectionately
Thank you!
Sending you happy birthday message! Happy birthday to ya ;)
Thank you so much! I had a lovely birthday - and lots of cake. And hugs! :)
