i've just read the first chapter of tfios online and dear god i can't stop simultaneously puking and rolling my eyes. it's so much worse than i'd imagined. plus my brother recently had testicular cancer which was really hard on my family and it's kinda gross to hear about that guy's 'cancertastic cancer of the nuts' or whatever talked about so jokingly like ugh this book is just so bad, in so many ways, right from the start.

that's so awful. i totally forgot about that joke but it's horrendously insensitive to laugh at a very common, very harmful cancer because of where it first manifests.
