How do I ask this guy if heâs still seeing someone?
For roughly 10 months Iâve had a crush on this guy I used to see around campus and speak to here and there about books (I struck up our first convo bc I had just finished the book he was reading the week before). After embarrassing (mortifying, really)Â myself in front of him and stressing about it for weeks I finally got up the courage to ask him out the next time I saw him. As I was passing him on the street, I stopped and invited him out for coffee. He agreed, so I put my number in his phone and he texted me almost immediately so I would have his, but I was on my way to class and about to pass out from nervousness, so I ran to class and texted him from there asking if he wanted to meet up Saturday. His response was basically, âNo, this weekend doesnât work for me, my girlfriend and I are going out of town.â So I was like BUMMER DUDE HAVE FUN (but in a not rude way) and didnât really interact with him for about six months and would only see him from afar. Then I ran into him about a month ago when I went to the school library, had a short ~5 min convo with him about what we were up to this summer, but he had to run to turn something in so I didnât get around to smoothly asking if he was still dating the girl heâd mentioned back in November.
Now that I have graduated, I wonât be seeing him around campus anymore and I canât find him anywhere on social media because he has THE most generic name ever. So basically, I have nothing to lose bc we have no mutual friends that I know of, and the worst he can say is ânope still not singleâ but how in the heck do I ask him tactfully and still pretty much get straight to the point?

When people casually refer to girls wearing lipstick and winged eyeliner and leather jackets and girls hanging out as being in a âgirl gangâ, when they say shit like âletâs start of girl gang of [insert girls]â or consider girl gangs to be the Ultimate Feminist Aesthetic⢠theyâre making light of actual girls and women in actual gangs. Real girls in real gangs arenât some sort of aesthetic, theyâre gangs of women and girls(!!!) of color born out of poverty and abuse, women and girls who are pushed into the prison industrial complex, and women and girls who are subject to actual violence and trauma, etc. Turning it into an aesthetic because it just sounds cool or some shit is so fucked up, and frankly itâs Peak White Feminism⢠like that time when those white feminists thought the female head of an actual gang was some sort of feminist act because âshe had a pink gun!!11 :~)â

transgender students are only required to have their parent or guardian contact the school district to notify them that their identity differs from what is previously on record
these students do not need to provide a medical diagnosis, identification documents, or any other information regarding their transition
transgender students must be accommodated even when it makes others students uncomfortable
transgender students can be offered the use of single stall restrooms, but if other students are not required to use them, then they arenât required, either, and specifically mentions that if a student is uncomfortable sharing a restroom with a transgender person they can be offered a single stall restroom
these protections also cover correct pronoun use as well, along with other guidelines
