Vaporeon was my first eeveelution, so I'm always really sentimental about that, but Flareon is better stats-wise tbh

Yeah I was struggling to choose between Vaporeon and Flareon because they're both so awesome! All the Eeveelutions are really. But actually Vaporeon has better stats if you look at it from a competitive standpoint; Flareon has massive attack power, but sadly it doesn't have that much access to good physical attacks. It's got Flare Blitz, which is nice, but it's outclassed by a lot of Pokemon who have a wider movepool and better abilities that allow them to sweep a team effectively. Vaporeon on the other hand fares much better on the battlefield; it's typing, stat distribution, available moves, and ability let it be a really nice stall wall. It can use moves like Scald, Wish, Yawn, Protect and Toxic to stay out on the field longer, burn, poison or put to sleep the opponent, and help heal its team mates when need be. It's also a Water Type, which only has two weaknesses, while Flareon has three, all of which are relatively common in competitive play. Plus it's more of a special attacker and has much more of a variety of good attacks, like Surf, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam and Shadow Ball.

So yeah, long story short, Vaporeon is the stronger of the two. Sorry that was a really long explanation, I just really like talking about competitive strategies :/
