As someone who slogged through all of the IWTV book, I feel a solemn duty to warn you that it was one of the most boring and insufferable reading experiences of my life. The show and movie are great and I love them, but I think the original product was a soul draining exercise in racist misery that should never be experienced by another human. If you do read it I wish you well, but i wanted to stand by the metaphorical road and give you the first act warning about what lies down the road.
thank you for the warning my friend, i appreciate it! 🧡
in truth, i probably won't read them, because all i know about the book series (which is really only the fanfic controversies, the wikipedia article i read about the amc series, your message, and the fact that guillermo from wwdits is an armand fanboy 😂) signals to me that it would actually be really frustrating after watching the series.
i like to think i learned my lesson after i bought the TOG comics, full of enthusisam and hoping to learn more about what the sequel might be like... and then i cringed at how much the source material paled in comparison to the film. no thank you!
that's where i was yesterday after finishing the first series of iwtv - i know the info of what happens next is out there and i can't wait to find out, but i'm beginning to accept that it'll have to be by waiting for the next season, rather than skipping ahead and reading the books 😌
