In the ultimate middle finger to Jax, Nat has taken over his bed. This should end well. 🙃 #siblingrivalry #NatandJax #theadventuresofthegardners
Oh Danny. *This is a long post, sorry guys.* This little nugget has given us one hell of a week. Sometime on Monday morning, he got himself stuck in the strings for the blinds. He was clearly in pain, but we kept him alone and let him rest for a few days, and he slowly started using his leg again, but he wasn't eating, and was still very lethargic. Early Thursday morning, Richie got up and found that he had puked up a piece of lamp cord, about 3" long. We had no idea he had eaten it, so we made an appointment for him to go get checked, but didn't expect that he had eaten more than a little bit. I dropped him off at the vet and went to work, expecting a call in a couple hours saying he was totally fine and we just needed to give him a few days. Instead, I got a call saying he had 10-12 more inches of the cord still in his stomach, and that he would need a VERY expensive surgery to get it removed. We don't have that kind of money, so we thought we only had one other option. Because Danny is so young, and otherwise healthy, they really didn't want to have to euthanize him, so they offered us an extremely reduced price for the surgery, which we still really couldn't afford, but they also contacted a local animal rescue foundation that would potentially take him and pay for his surgery and then adopt him out. Obviously we didn't want to give him up, but at least he would still have a chance at life, so we were ready to surrender him to them. When the foundation got back to the vets, they instead offered to pay half of the cost of the reduced price of the surgery, leaving us with only needing to come up with 250 more dollars. Our little man had his surgery today, and will spend the weekend at the vets recovering, thanks to these amazing people at Sheabel and the Woodstock Animal Foundation. We would have lost our Danny, one way or another, if it wasn't for them, and for that we will be forever grateful. 💜💜💜 #thankyou #sheabelveterinaryhospital #woodstockanimalfoundation #theadventuresofthegardners #donteatlampcords #lexington #ky (at Sheabel Veterinary Hospital)
