“What are you staring at?” she exclaimed, not really mean to sound as aggressive as she did whilst she ruffled her hair slightly, clicking her very rarely worn heels together with a small smile looking up at the figure in front of her. A figure who had probably had their eyes on the white blonde for quite some time now, whether that was on purpose or not would be another story.

“Don’t even tell me that we have to do more tests today. I swear, we were just there.”

Piper knew it was a bad idea. She warned them. She warned the geneticists. One, fully grown Mosasaurus was hard enough to deal with; she was huge, she was carnivorous, and studying her was monumentally dangerous. Piper constantly worried there’d come a time where that tank just wouldn’t be enough, and the girl would learn to push past the limits the park tried to put on her. Suddenly, they decided they wanted to make another one? Piper insisted against it--- her entire lab team insisted against it. One more Mosasaurus was insane; it was the type of thing that screamed ‘BAD FUCKING IDEA’. But did any of them listen to her? No.
They went against everything her lab team told them, and now, the were royally fucked. Not only had InGen created a new Mosasaurus, they built her tank far too close to the ocean, and as she started growing, she started getting smarter, and smarter, until she broke out. Piper, and every single member of her group, was absolutely furious. She nearly shouted her throat raw at the poor geneticists who had to suffer through her rage head-on. It took Piper’s entire team to get her to calm down enough to speak at an acceptable volume. It took several minutes and hushed arguing, but Piper decided; she’d be on the rescue team to get that Mosasaurus back.
Standing on the beach, the boat and the rest of the rescue group preparing themselves for the trip, the whole reality of what she was about to do hit her with full force. There was a high chance that Piper could die out there, that this whole thing would just be one huge suicide mission, and she swore she was about that have a panic attack, when she noticed a vaguely familiar person standing not too far from her and decided that talking would probably help her refrain from having a nervous breakdown. “Hey.” She called out, moving to stand a little bit closer to him. “Aren’t you the guy that works with the Raptors? Grady, right? I hope I don’t sound rude by asking, really, I’m just curious, but--- why are you here? Mosasauruses and Velociraptors are two very different creatures.”
“Mr. Grady, where are we going?”
God, she felt like a kid saying that. Eleanor “Nora” Rheeves (Or Vi LeBeau, but as far as anyone here knew, she was Nora, the Biochem student from Lafayette) sat in the passenger’s side of a park-issued car next to Owen Grady, her mentor she guessed. He was the first one who met her on the docks of Isla Nublar, got her into work with the raptors (even after she nearly fainted seeing them), all that jazz.
That was a few weeks ago. This morning, she woke up to Owen telling her that she was going with him to inspect some kind of paddock for a new attraction. Whatever it was, she didn’t know. Someone thought the biochem student would like it.
