Adapt the girl of fire and thorns pls and thank
Omg YOU
You get me
Look I have considered adapting the girl of fire and thorns for a long time
Like. 8 episodes. I know when each episode ends I know when the cliffhangers are
Elisa is the LOVE OF MY LIFE so obviously I would want someone electrifying to play her and also size correct because MY HEROINE is plus sized and beautiful that way!! Also Hector would need to be very handsome lol
So episode one would be the marriage to Alejandro, the family dynamics with Alodia, the journey through the jungle & the Perditos attack, ending with arrival at Brisadulce
I'd probably play with structure and have Aneaxi die at the beginning of the second episode, so we kick off with Elisa losing another connection to Orovalle and she is left with Ximena, whom I love but is shifty as FUCK
Which means we can really feel how isolated Elisa feels in her new country, how the godstone is interpreted differently, the fact that she has to hide her marriage, all the tricky court politics, and thus her growing bond with Hector
I would also showcase across the first 2 episodes that Elisa is incredibly well-versed in battle tactics and can hold her own. I've always loved that she always has the knowledge, she just needs confidence and experience to apply it
Conlang for this would be So Fun btw
The religious aspect of the world building?? All the 5s and 10s?? Godstone imagery??? I would go NUTS I would like point a set director at the books and tell them to dial it up to 11
Cosmé would also be so fun to play because what are her motives?? What game is she playing?? We don't find out until the end of ep 3
That would be the cliffhanger ending when Elisa finds herself kidnapped in the desert btw
Ugh like a part of me wants to map out the whole thing right here and now, but equally prominent is the part of me that wants people to read the books and discover how GREAT they are without detailing all of book 1 lol
I'd pay really close attention to the casting. I would want the world to feel very true to it's environment, especially with Elisa having darker skin since she's from Orovalle but Everyone getting cast correctly. The token white character doesn't appear until book 2 anyway but since hes an undercover operative I'd totally cast him as one of those Italian actors who pretend they're Latinx
Translating Elisa's relationship with her godstone would be tricky since a lot of it is internal and temperature based. I think a lil glow never hurt nobody, right?
One of the great things about Rae Carson is that I can always See what she's describing. The jungle is green and muggy, Brisadulce is ugly and over bearing, the Maleficios live on a reddish brown series of cliffs, etc. I'd work really hard to ensure each location was distinctive and memorable
Did I mention Hector would need to be hot? Hector would need to be hot.
Seasons 2 & 3 also mapped out, more or less, in my head too lol
