I will never understand why the American idiot musical is so hated. As someone who saw it live, I have never fully recovered from how jaw-dropping it was to see 2 iconic Green Day albums get turned into a catching and mesmerizing musical. Theater is an art, and the art of Broadway Idiot is far too underappreciated in my eyes.

Not to mention the HARMONY. Oh my god, the harmony in this musical is crazy, especially the songs Last Night On Earth, the end of St Jimmy with Johnny and St Jimmy, and Whatsername.

In all honesty, I prefer some of the songs from the musical over the original(HEAVY ON EXTRODANARY GIRL)

It is my soul mission to get this musical the Fandom it deserves. YES there will be fan art, YES there will be ships, and YES there will be roleplay accounts dwelling in the comment section of this fandom.

If this musical has no fans, I'm dead.

As of 2:13 today, MY SHOW IS 149% FUNDED VIA KICKSTARTER AND I AM SCREAMING. 

Over a year of writing, months of planning and organizing, and weeks of rehearsals are FINALLY COMING TOGETHER.

IT’S TONY SUNDAYYYYYYYY

I. AM. SOBBING. The little show that could won 10 awards out of 11 nominations including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, and Best Score. Honestly, Broadway lately has been pretty disheartening. The performances and efforts are always phenomenal, but it’s been so long since I saw I show that really spoke to me and reminded me why I want to perform and have the honor of telling stories. The fact that a non-spectacle, non-commercial, non-traditional, multi-ethnic show rocked the theater world tonight is giving me LIFE. I am so inspired and for the first time in so long, I am excited to get up tomorrow and go to my voice lesson and work on my writing and prep for this week’s auditions. Thank you, Band’s Visit, for your message, your heart, and your courage. <3 <3 <3

BOOKED IT. It’s like two weeks of work and my day jobs are furious at me up and running to Pennsylvania next week, but it’s for a major regional theater, so LET’S DO THISSSSSSS.

Me: Ugh, this Tony season was so lame and there are only like three actually good shows, I might not even watch the awards.

Also Me: *flies back to NYC the day before the Tony Awards to make sure she doesn’t miss her obnoxious dress-up, wine and cheese Tony party while listening to all the nominee albums*

Non-CTM post, but THIS IS MY SPORTS SEASON AND IT IS CONTROVERSIAL AND GIVING ME FEELINGS. This also means that work is about to become unbearable because people go NUTS during Tony season. Like, people run into theaters like I’M SEEING A TONY-NOMINATED PLAY and we have to be like SIT DOWN, SUSAN, IT WASN’T NOMINATED YESTERDAY AND IT’S EXACTLY THE SAME. 

Also, I wish I could explain how proud of “The Band’s Visit” I am. Little show that could! Nominated for Best Musical!
