Review: THE BEACH READ by Emily Henry. I started reading this book sometime back in the end of Feb '22 and am not sure whether I liked it. I wouldn't say it's amazing coz it wasn't. Tbh ,at one point I was prepared to DNF this book. The only thing that was stopping me from doing so is the intriguing back stories of the MCs. Many refer to this book as an "enemies to lovers" romance but I don't think so. It was certainly a mix of " the miscommunication " and "academic lovers" trope because both of them had hardcore but unexpressed and unspoken feelings for each other. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 Spic Rating 🌶️🌶️ ( Trust me , I'm doing a favour by giving it a two ) The book is a good pick if you are searching for light hearted romance. Gus and January's romance is a good slow burn eventhough they have the basic rom com cliches. Shadi , January's best friend was not featured for more than a couple chapters and yet her messages and small anecdotes about her were definitely the reason why she became my favourite character in this book.
