It’s Father’s Day and you know what that mean. Adventure Time! I took father and family to @inamaetavern a New Orleans-inspired restaurant in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. I had been meaning to come here for quite sometime as I’ve heard such good things. A drink to kick things off. Molly’s By Day IPA by @spitefulbrewing through a collaboration with @lottiespub inspired by the "Chicago P.D." series. Bitter, dry, and fruity. I had recently read about this particular new brew from @halfacrebeer in the news the other day. I came across it in a local shop and had to try it. Bodem American IPA. Aromas of Mango, pineapple , and flowery hops. Some bitterness that is balanced with a little malty sweetness. Definitely get the tropical hop flavor. Great body for an IPA. It’s Mardi Gras people! Unfortunately I couldn’t be in the Big Easy, but I could have a drink to toast the celebration. Next up from my haul from @theopenbottle is Double Daisy Cutter Capra American Pale Ale by @halfacrebeer . Nose of grass, citrus, and herbs. Quite similar to the regular Daisy Cutter. Notes of grassy hops, with grapefruit, pine, caramel, and some dankness to follow along with moderate to low bitterness. Medium-bodied and medium carbonation. Happy New Year, Peeps! Everyone be safe out there and have a good time tonight if you’re going out. I picked up a pack of this beer recently and I was saving my last one just for tonight. Scream IIPA (Thumbprint) by @newglarusbrewing . Pours a slightly cloudy ripe apricot color with a thick white head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is orange and pineapple that is slightly dank. Flavor is sweet with citrus hops and a decent amount of caramel malt backbone. Feel is medium, with adequate carbonation. Merry Christmas you filthy animals! Have a good one and a safe one out there! I’ve been having a pretty good day. I decided to try this particular beer that I’ve been saving just for today. Christmas Ale by @westsixth . The smell is rich in warm Christmas spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, with a bit of ginger getting into the mix as well. Almost like drinking a Christmas cookie. Roasted malts are among the most prevalent flavours and are swiftly followed by a nice, winter spiciness. The feel is wonderfully smooth, with carbonation that is absolutely spot on, and a wonderfully warming, yet still smooth feel.
