This blogger right here because I love that book! Hottest Spaceboy in the Whole Goddamn Galaxy: Nik from Gemina 😍 Best Twist/Ending ever: Also Gemina!!! Best Reveal: CAN I JUST SAY THAT IF YOU HAVENT READ SIMON VS THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA WHAT ARE YOU DOING! THIS IS THE CUTEST BOOK EVER. AND I CANT EVEN TALK ABOUT THIS REVEAL BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T READ IT! Best Couple, or rather Best Couples because every couple from the Beautiful Series appears in the final book and they are all Goals™ Most Heart: Somehow every page of The Sun Is Also A Star is made from love and light and hope, all bound by reality until the entire book just feels like magic. But not spells or inexplicable powers, this book has the magic that keeps our hearts pumping, our minds racing, our feet moving. The ☀️ is also a ⭐️ has the magic of life. And lastly, the top three. The other reads weren't ranked in any way, because I ❤️ them all equally. But these three. These ones are my heart. 1. Nevernight wins the award for bloodiest, most brutal laughs I've ever had and my absolute favorite book of 2016. 2. A Court of Mist & Fury, best male character, Rhys my one true love. 3. This Savage Song, Greatest world building The only one I'm truly surprised by is This Savage Song. I went in with zero expectations and it turned out to be one of the best books I've read this year. Nevernight is now part of what has become a holy trinity of my all time favorites: Nevernight, Fire, and Uprooted. It's been a very fantasy heavy list of favorites this year.

REVIEW: Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi 💫🌼💖
{4.5 Stars} Furthermore was just just lovely. This book has some of the most exquisite prose I've ever read, with a really well developed (but not overly detailed) world. I could spend years in Ferenwood & Furthermore. Alice was a brilliant heroine, with a really well done character arc, the kind I love to see in MG. She's strong but vulnerable, smart and tough. Also...she eats flowers. I mean what more can you ask for? I can't wait to reading more of her adventures with Oliver. My only issue is that the ending tied up entirely too neatly for my taste, but I loved everything else so much that it didn't detract much from my entire reading experience. (Still...there are some niggling questions...come on sequel!) 🌼
Note: this book is middle grade. It's very different from her Shatter Me series, but I really think everyone should give it a chance. Imagine Diagon Alley on hallucinogens, turn up the color saturation to 100% and then dial it up to full whimsical zone. It actually reminded me quite a bit of Adam Gidwitz writing in the best possible way. Tahereh Mafi is a true wordsmith, lovely, lovely book. Furthermore is definitely in my faves this year, and I can't wait to read more. PS: The cover and book design in the final book are so gorgeous! You should definitely pick this up. It's one of those perfect books to display on your shelf!

Day 3: pink + green books #augustofpages 🍉 I finished This Savage Song last night and it was AHMAZING!!! I'm completely obsessed! Kate Harker is my new favorite and I basically want to keep August Flynn safe from the whole goddamn universe. 💗 Top Ten of the year for sure. 👌🏾🙌🏾
