The Burning Chambers - By Kate Mosse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting this novel I was a bit hesitant as I know NOTHING about history. After studying the notes at the beginning, which were very helpful, I began a beautiful journey following memorable characters through sixteenth-century France.
This story holds you with its many themes such as; Love, Betrayal, Mystery, War, Family and Religious Conflict.
The story is set in motion when 19 year old Minou Joubert recieves a strange letter in her fathers bookshop. Her story becomes intertwined with the ongoing conflict between the Catholics and Huguenots. This conflict is personified through the relationship of Piet and Vidal and the conspiracy they find themselves in.
This book was fast paced and full of action! Moments which made me stop and think and even conspire my own theories involving these different characters!
Beautifully written and highly enjoyable!!
