Henry thought the new cyberpunk-themed café in his town was the cat’s meow. 🤖☕️

This phrase burst onto the scene in 1920s America, right in the middle of the Roaring Twenties slang explosion. It's credited to cartoonist Thomas A. Dorgan, who was famous for coining a bunch of flapper-era expressions.

Back then, people loved pairing animals with body parts to mean “the best” (you’ll also find cousins like “the bee’s knees,” “the cat’s pajamas,” and “the snake’s hips” from the same era. Nobody's 100% sure why cats and bees got singled out for greatness, but the playful nonsense of it was exactly the vibe of Jazz Age slang. 🎷
