Danny Ketch & "Storm-chasing" IE. Catastrophic & Reckless Behavior as a way to ignore his problems/for a thrill.
Behold. The saddest, soggiest, most patheticist alley cat you've ever seen. Addict starts out strong. In quick succession, Danny- twoish years out from under the ghost rider- is pissed drunk and smashing bottles over people's heads.
As, yknow, someone well-adjusted does.
Gets called an idiot by a pretty woman and then makes an absolutely scathing phone call ✨️
Its clear to everyone around him that he's in something of a death spiral. Mary is entirely unsurprised that he's calling her drunk. It seems from the tone of their conversation that fighting has been a common hobby of his lately. According to himself and Eleven hes trying (and failing) to fill a Ghost-Rider-Shaped hole in his life with violence and booze. And when he doesn't quite get there he moves on to the next thing, street fights. More booze etc
This is a fun one because basically his entire arc is the fault of this one scene.
Another point in the Danny Starts Barfights bin. This is the first we see of him chronologically so we dont get a lot of where his heads at here but hes hustling, picking fights, shit talking even when there's a knife Literally Inchs From His Neck and (if I let myself i'll basically just post this whole issue so I'll just Write hshdhdh) with very little questioning or persuasion follows the crazy lady with the tazer.
Hi do i even need to say anything about this one. i don't think so. i think it speaks for itself. He's fighting a spontaneous 2v1 because they were being creepy to a girl in the bar which is noble (hah) until he starts saying things Like This. if he was doing it for righteous reasons, then why is he so determined for Him As Himself to get his ass kicked.
and Finally one that isn't a bar fight:
This is king of hell johnny. Who's been actively losing his mind in hell for like a year and even he can see that Danny is maaaaaaybe not making wise choices. His mom has just died so to give himself something to occupy his time hes.. opened a pub. He is quite literally an alcoholic in a whiskey bar or however that saying goes.
[Honourable mention to symbiote of vengeance which also is mentioned in this scene. while i dont think its the most egregious example, it takes him very little convincing to pack it all the way to nicaragua to help someone whos name he hasnt even heard]
Okay i dont know if any of this made any sense. at all. but its sat in my drafts for Too Long hwjdkasdasd. i just think hes got Capital I Issues and i think his specific flavour of self destructiveness is very fun.
