I was always under the impression that Doctor was late those fourteen years because those were the fourteen years that he was with Amy and Rory. He had to go through it all twice - Maybe he thought at the end of second way around he could of changed the events of The Angels Take Manhattan. I don't know. It's the way I look at it.

Wait what, how? I don’t follow this at all — he had to meet up with Amy in Eleventh Hour, 12 years later, in order to kickstart their adventure, so… how could he have done that… before he … did that…

lol I’m sorry I don’t understand what you mean. Doctor meets Amelia, says “brb”, comes back 12 years later to Amy, beats Prisoner Zero, then comes back 2 years later. Do you mean that it all happened for him between Prisoner Zero and meeting Amy before her wedding night? But that doesn’t… I mean, either way he has to meet Amy 14 years later, he can’t skip that bit.
