The boy is tired and covered in blood. It's been non-stop, being dragged about from one corrupt, overbearing underling of the vile king to the other. His blade drags the ground, his eyes dark with lack of rest. Nothing seems to be important but this calling.
The guiding voice that pulls him foward. "Do not give up. It will be over soon." It doesn't seem to know his limitations. He is just a boy. A young boy that has become shockingly powerful, but still, a child. This is too much, and soon he might snap.
This is wrong, he thinks. Something about the very nature of this quest seems broken. He does not remember any of the faces he's met, any of their voices, just words. As if they were printed out before him, as if it was scripted. He doesn't know why he ever decided to go up against the toad king in the first place. Thinking about it makes his head ache.
The boy stops moving forward. The voice calls to him again, but he does not move. He's too weak to be fighting any more. "I need to rest..."
There is not time. It is almost here. The battle will be swift. I have healed you well. You must move forward.
He looked up. "I cannot fight like this...please, can I not wait? I'll surely fail like this..." His head hurt. He felt like something was certainly wrong here. It was as if he'd realized too soon that something was wrong here. That the place he was going would not be pleasant.
...You will be fine. You trust me, do you not?
"...Yes, but...I...I'm sorry. You're right."
