Movies to watch this Halloween

The Craft-1996

This is my favourite movie of all time! My mom told me to watch it since it was also her favorite movie when she was my age! It’s about a bunch of girls in high school who practice witchcraft, they form a coven together and cast spells including an accidental love spell, a glamour spell (which is INSANE), & spell to make the bitch at school lose all of her hair. It gets dark and snakey...  I relate to psychotic Nancy on a personal level & that scares me. Also, the fashion in this movie is incredible and I get a lot of inspiration for my outfits from this movie.

Halloween Town -1998

Ever since I was 5 I've been watching the Halloween Town movies dressed as a witch while eating the leftover turkey. ––You should try it sometime, its fun!

Coraline-2009

My 5-year-old self has never been so petrified ––actually, myself now has never been so petrified.

The Corpse Bride-2005

Another Tim Burton movie, I just watched this movie for the first time last week and I love it. I love the character of the girl Emily, it’s so sad how she waited for love even after she died.

Mean Girls-2004

Okay, I know this isn’t actually a Halloween movie but it’s fun to watch in October since of the Halloween party & it’s always fun to see Cady’s costume, (no one told her about the slut rule). But I actually love her costume !!

Carrie-1976

This movie is fucking insane it’s about a teenage girl who has telekinesis powers and takes revenge on the bitches at her school. It’s based on Stephen King's novel (which I have to read after watching this movie).  Carries' mother is so fucked up, ANYTHING related to sex or the body is a fucking sin to her. When Carrie gets her period for the first time her mom refers to it as the “curse of blood” and thinks that Carrie got it because she committed some “sexual sin” Then she locks her the “prayer closet” which seems very demonic and there is a terrifying-looking voodoo person doll thingy in there as well to keep Carrie company. I also laughed my ass off when she refers to Carrie’s breasts as “dirty pillows”. What the fuck. Also the last scene made me scream. Just watch the movie its a cult classic in my opinion.

The Love Witch-2016

The Love Witch is about a girl named Elaine who seduces men using sex magic, casts spells over them, and then kills them when they don’t live up to her fantasy standards (relatable). This movie is so 70′s glam! Anna Biller wrote the screenplay and directed the film in addition to making all of the costumes and sets by hand! Also, Elaine is literally Lana Del Rey's long lost sister. They have the same vibe and they look so alike. So if you love Lana Del Rey & the 70′s you should definitely watch this movie. I will probably write more about this movie later since there are so many interesting things to discuss from Elaine's character to the type of magic she uses & costumes and makeup.
