fae au is about human taako and fae kravitz meeting at a masquerade party and falling in love Disney style.
the impossible kind of fairytale love, where you meet a handsome stranger, dance the night away, and by the end of the night part ways while wondering if you can really fall head over heels that quickly for someone you dont even know. <333333 aw <3333333
and then both of them waking up the next morning like “wait what the fuck this was a very unrealistic and out of character thing to have happen”, but for different reasons.
you see when taako was young he had an unfortunate run in with some fairies who… well theyre jerks who love telling stories but we dont need to worry about them right now. this experience gave him lifelong commitment issues and a mistrust of anything fae. so finding himself having Feelings for someone who is Not Human freaks him OUT and drives a lot of the conflict in this au. (taako is about 80% of the conflict in this au. our horrible boy.)
kravitz is part of the Raven Queen and her “court”. his, not job, but the essence of the Being that he Is oversees the passageway between Life and Death. hes a very chill dude, not super prone to making friends or caring about the mortal and physical worlds, but hes not a jerk about it! its just that his is a very passive existence and falling for some human in a gaudy suit is New for him.
turns out that one night of magic doesnt make up for a lifetime of baggage :\
fae au is about these two idiots realizing that they have the opportunity to have the love story of a lifetime, but only if they can learn to grow and heal not just for each other, but for themselves.
