“Oh, sorry, were you talking to me?” Signy asked, turned to face the man fully. She offered him an apologetic smile and leaned in to better hear him. “What was it you were saying?”

“Do I lose points if I tell you I’m having a pretty nice time?” (Edmund)

“No, I suppose that wouldn’t be too bad,” came the reply, complete with a short laugh and a shake of her head. “At least someone’s having a nice time.”

“What are you running away for?” (Edmund)

“Trouble, mostly,” he replied with a laugh, peeking out the pub doors before shutting the door and looking back at the owner. “I have time for a drink, though.”

“No, no, no, there’s no need to huff and puff. I’ll let you come in…” (Edmund)

Momentarily made wary of the phrase from the man, Tommy studied the owner for a second longer than he would have normally, before finally stepping inside the pub.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to knock so loud,” he explained, glancing around the room, trying to spot his friend, “I didn’t think anyone could hear.”
