It's not normal as such, but if they had that much trouble finding a vein then they probably bruised you badly. I wouldn't worry about it for at least another week. As for the bleeding...it sounds like you must be re-opening it before it can heal.

That's probably it, I keep moving around and sustaining injuries and other dumb stuff. I think I'll just tie a cloth around it for good measure and hope it sorts itself out.
