WOW I’m sorry I’m such a slow responder omg.
Ok so yeah I’m just real upset about bi jake and his exposure to this awful idea that “oh well you’re only like /that/ because you lacked a strong male role model!” And god, Jake’s dad leaving already fucks with him on so many levels, I don’t want to /think/ about how it’s affected his own sense of identity and his past relationships with men.
Like I think consciously, Jake knows that it’s bullshit, just like he may consciously know that a grown man abandoning his wife and young child is not the /fault/ of that young child, but…I mean, consciously knowing something doesn’t make that little voice in the back of your head shut up.
Guh okay I’m like on the bus to work right now and this probably doesn’t make too much sense but I just want Jake to be happy ok.
LITERALLY do not even get me started on what a validating experience Holt’s presence in his life would have been.
