The shop was dark upon Alicia’s arrival back from the market. She frowned, pursing her lips in confusion and tossed her bag onto the the plush chair as she made her way to the back where the rooms where located.

“KADEN! I’M BACK!” 

Their voice carried throughout, breaking the silence but nothing followed. Their frown deepened, and a twinge of worry wormed it’s way into their gut. She glanced into the kitchen, empty save for her familiar Nadi. The owl in question let out a coo, crumbs from a biscuit falling from their beak, and flew towards Alicia, landing on their shoulder.. She smiled and cooed softly back before continuing her search.

She found Kaden curled up in a ball on his bed, the covers pulled over his body. Alicia crept towards the bed, shushing Nadi and attempting to sneakily make her way over there. She hadn’t made it more than a couple of steps before Kaden’s voice came forth, muffled by the covers. 

“I know you’re there. It’s no use trying to sneak up on me.” 

Alicia pouted, before their lips curled up into a crooked smile, and they jumped onto the bed and pulled the covers off of Kaden. Nadi landed on the headboard and let out another coo. 

“And just what are you doing, lazylump?”

Kaden gazed at her with red-rimmed eyes. 

“Nothing.”

“Obviously it’s something, otherwise you would have answered me when I said I was home.”

“Really, it’s nothing.”

The shorter apprentice suddenly grabbed Kaden’s arm and jerked him into sitting position. They noted his red eyes and downcast aura before huffing. 

“Okay.” 

Alicia faced Nadi and cooed at her, and the owl made it’s way over them, rubbing their head on Kaden’s hair. Kaden gave a weak smile. 

“You stay there, I’ll be back in a second.” 

Their voice betrayed nothing except for a hint of mischievousness. Alicia left the room and went to the back door. The cats that came around should be out there by now, and while Asra insisted that they should remain outside, Alicia knew that it would be fine. Especially on this occasion. 

She opened the door and, sure enough, there they were, meowing up a storm. They curled around her legs as she ushered them into the shop and led them towards Kaden’s room. 

Kaden was petting Nadi who preened under the attention, her eyes closed in contentment. A meow caught the owl’s attention, and her eyes opened and glared at Alicia. Alicia smiled teasingly.

“I’m back!” 

They jumped back onto the bed and the cats followed. 

“Alicia…”

Alicia hummed.

“Why are there cats? You know you aren’t supposed to let them in.”

“Bullshit. I swear I thought I heard him say it was fine.”

Kaden chuckled, allowing the cats to curl up beside him and on his lap. They lapsed into silence for a while as the cats purred and Nadi cooed before Kaden rested their head on Alicia’s shoulder.

“Thanks.”

“No problem.”

Invey is really unique, I like it! :D

Invey's colors are pretty to me: White, yellow, green, black, white again, and dark blue. 

As for the taste, Invey's taste is really faint, so I can't accurate say what it tastes like. The texture, however, is very strong: thick and velvety, like soft italian ice!
