Annie hadn’t visited Katniss since Mackenzie had only been a few weeks old, so she had figured it was about time to go catch up with her friend. She had packed her bags and jumped on a train to nine, she hoped Katniss didn’t mind the surprise visit but Annie had missed being around people of late. To make sure Katniss wouldn’t be mad, Annie had bought a little blue dress for Kenzie from the market in Four before she left.

She knocked quietly on the door three times, not knowing if Katniss had heard she knocked again this time louder. There was no answer. Annie figured Katniss wouldn’t mind if she tried the door. It happened to be open, so she let herself in assuming that she would be busy with Mackenzie. “Katniss?” She called out and waited for a response. She really did hope she was home and Annie hadn’t been seen to be breaking in.
