The First Meeting. - Larkin, Ricky, Regan, Stefan and Alex
Alex
Alex tapped his fingertips against the steering wheel of his car. Glancing over his shoulder at his two accompaniments. "Just keep on your toes. We've got to remember the Italians are слизистый." Alex was okay using Russian around both of them now. He'd noted that Regan had started learning the language. He suspect so she could understand what was going on in meetings. "Alright. It's time." He muttered, unlatching the door and pushing it open.
Larkin
Larkin leaned against her old car, an unlit cigarette dancing between her fingers. Her nerves were on high alert; her last few encounters with the Russians had left her with shattered ribs and various bruises, and she wasn't about to let that happen again. She instinctively fingered the gun that she had hidden in her waistband until she saw a fancy car pull up. They were here. She crouched behind her car and watched three people get out and walk to the warehouse door, Alex, Regan, and a muscular male she didn't recognize. She wished she had brought backup, but hoped she wouldn't need it. Taking a deep breath, she sauntered towards the large door and pushed it open, every nerve in her body tingling. She folded her arms across her chest and walked in slowly, eying the group suspiciously. "If you've called me here to kill me, I'm very disappointed, Alex. You're usually very flashy, I would've thought you would have done it somewhere public."
Regan
Regan knew there had to be something up with this meeting in particular since there was an obvious tough guy type that had been brought along. It had become apparent that Alex's real business wasn't just a simple restaurateur or bar owner--and all those little ideas of Russian mob that she'd let run wild in her head before talking herself out of were now confirmed. If she were as smart as she liked to think, she wouldn't be here right now--but here she was, and she had no intention of getting out of this now. With a nod of her head in response, Regan exited the vehicle and followed her boss into the warehouse, hopping up to take a seat on a crate of God only knew what as they waited for the latest mysterious person they'd be taking this meeting with--her eyebrows shooting up as the opened and an unexpectedly familiar face walked in. "Ну, Святое дерьмо..."
Stefan
Stefan shifted in his seat uncomfortably, his fingers drumming against his knee as he looked out the window. He hadn't had too much experience in the 'family business'--considering his parents had let him in on their whole family history just three years ago--but he knew enough that this whole meeting was unsettling for him; he knew that the Italians were not to be trusted, and he wondered how well this whole thing would go down. Alex cut the engine before Stefan hopped out of the vehicle, following him and Regan inside. His jaw set, the male straightened his posture as an unfamiliar face entered.
Alex
Alex had lead Regan and Stefan into the warehouse, hands securely in his pockets. He had bought along two things of extra security. A gun never hurt after all. Once the three of them made it inside, Alex began to pace back and forth; pretty sure that Larkin wouldn't actually show. It seemed she was all about talk and no action. So when she actually did sheepishly wander through the warehouse double doors, he was stopped in his tracks. A smirk setting itself across lips lips. Alex gestured to Regan and Stefan. "Larkin, my guys.. Regan and Stefan. Guys, this is the lovely Larkin Cavalli." His eyes never once left the Italian female, it was notable how uncomfortable she was and he couldn't help but be amused by this. "I thought we should have a chat about a common enemy."
Larkin
Larkin slowly grew more confident as her eyes adjusted to the room. She couldn't be sure but she had a feeling it was only the four of them, putting her at ease. She smiled coldly at Alex and broke in, "Thanks for the introduction, asshole." She turned her attention to Regan briefly; she had liked the girl during the few encounters they had had, seeing her here was a bit of a shock. "Regan, right? I have to say, I'm genuinely surprised to see you here. I wasn't aware you were affiliated with the Russian mob." Realizing that the girl was probably wondering what Larkin herself was doing here, she nodded casually and explained, "Italian mafia. Cavalli's go way back in this city." She then turned to the stranger and nodded, smirking, "And I bet you're here to make sure I stay in line, right? Let me guess: You've got orders to break my neck or pop a cap in me if I make one move towards your precious Azarov, right?" She had to admit, her curiosity had officially been peaked. "And what common enemy is this, hm?"
Regan
Regan was at a loss for words for once in her life as her eyes darted back and forth between her employer and Larkin--the tension between them was so thick you'd need a chainsaw to cut it and likely end up with the damn thing blowing up in your face. Her eyes fixed on Larkin as she addressed her, she'd seen the other blonde around Lakeview a few times and had a few pleasant conversations in passing with her, and she was pretty certain she was on friendly terms with her brother--so to see her here and announcing she was Italian mafia and directly calling Regan out as a Russian mob affiliate, which it seemed she in fact was. "Right, and you're Larkin. I thought you were a music reporter for a magazine... I guess today is just chock full of surprises." she wrinkled her nose some, still in a bit of shock, especially as the conversation turned to Stefan and talk of killing her if she stepped a toe out of line.
Stefan
Stefan kept his eyes on female opposite him, his eyebrows raising momentarily as he Alex introduced them to one another. "Pleasure," he muttered, throwing the girl a halfhearted smile before deadpanning. He shifted his weight from one leg to another, inwardly rolling his eyes as he listened to the girl drone on. He didn't want to be here any longer than necessary. "Alex can take care of himself," he replied with a shrug, deciding it was best not to pick any fights and get on too far on anyone's bad side. After all, they were going to attempt to be working together.
Ricky
Ricky got the text from Larkin that said simply, "Something's going down. Need you here." He jumped off the couch and quickly turned off Fallout 3 before pulling his jacket on and grabbing his keys. He deliberated for a moment, then took his snub-nosed revolver out of his sock drawer. He didn't know what was going on, but he knew tensions were rising. He peeled out of the parking lot and it took him barely 10 minutes to find the warehouse that matched the address Larkin had sent. He hastily parked his bike before running up to the doors. They wouldn't open, and he was panicking at this point. He reared back and kicked it, sending it slamming open. He found himself looking at Larkin and Alex, with two people he didn't know. Anger flared up upon seeing Alex, and he rushed to Larkin's side. "What's happenin? Why the fuck are YOU here? Who are these people?"
Alex
Alex scoffed at Larkin's little tangent of word vomit. "Stefan is my наперсницей, purely here for the sake of it. Don't flatter yourself into thinking you pose an actual threat to me. Besides, I really think I can take care of myself, you and your ribs would know." Alex shot her a quick wink. "Exactly like Stefan said." His smirk not once wavering from his lips. Alex was about to explain what the point of this meeting actually was and the reason behind the mention of a 'common enemy' before the warehouse doors flung open and a familiar male came in. "He prone to making a grant entrance?" An eyebrow arched as he eyes darted to Ricky and his aired questions. A frustrated sigh escaped his lips, "I really had repeating myself." His toned dropped, annoyance filling each word. "Regan.." He pointed, "And Stefan. And I'm here because this little pow wow was my idea. That's why I'M here." Alex shot him a grin, a small wink following.
Larkin
Larkin's head snapped to the door, catching sight of Ricky. Half of her was secretly relieved that she was no longer alone against the other three, but the other half began to panic, fearing that Ricky might say something to provoke Alex; she was nervous that Alex might not hesitate to kill him. She turned back to Alex and rolled her eyes. She was growing weary of his pompousness. "Holy shit, you think because you broke my ribs like two months ago you're fucking invincible or something. Get over it, Jesus." She cocked a hip and leaned into it, folding her arms again. "You've got us here, now tell us what you want before we get bored and leave."
Regan
As the doors suddenly burst open, Regan's body tensed up and her hand moved toward her purse where the small handgun Alex had given her was concealed--not that she would have been able to do much with it even if she were quick enough to get it, she was a terrible shot and would probably even forget to unlock the safety and be a dead girl in a blink--thankfully no other guns were drawn and Alex remained semi-calm, though outwardly annoyed by the intrusion of what Regan could only assume was one of Larkin's mafia 'associates' there to watch her back. Blue eyes flicking to Alex as her name was spoken, then to Larkin and her 'friend', opting to keep her mouth shut, not wanting this exchange to drag on any longer than necessary and make her boss a gruffer pain in the ass to have to deal with later.
Ricky
Ricky eyed the strangers angrily. "Okay, Larkin, what the fuck is going on? Why's this asshole here?" His gaze settled on Alex, and his fists opened and closed unconsciously. "If he thinks he's here to beat you up again, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to hurt him very badly." He wasn't sure of he could kill anyone in cold blood, but if he put a hand on Larkin he would have shot until his gun was empty and the Russian bore a resemblance to Swiss cheese.
Alex
"Oh, I just love reminding of the dent I can leave." Alex's jaw clenched, his eyes set on Larkin as her companion rambled on about ridiculous threats he knew we simply words; nothing more. However, the threat to 'hurt him badly' pulled a string in Alex he didn't like. His actions were quick and happened in the blink of an eye, he pulled his hands from his pockets then lifted up the back of his jacket. Pulled the semi-automatic from his belt and charged it, it was completely ready to fire and Alex pointed it right at Ricky's head. "Threaten me again." He figured Larkin would have began to go for her own weapon so he held a hand to her and shook his index finger. "Don't even think about it. Now, see.. I want this meeting to be peaceful and productive. But here you are pissing me off. Not a smart move, there's bigger enemies we both need to worry about."
Larkin
Larkin's heart stopped as a gun was pointed at Ricky's head. Everything would be over with just the click of a gun. Her entire body tensed up and froze as she stared piercingly at Alex. She kept her voice low as she said, "Put. The fucking gun. Down. Now." She clenched her jaw, still keeping her voice calm. "I swear to fucking god if you pull that trigger your life is over. You know as well as I do that if you kill us you'll have the entire Italian mafia on your ass. I really didn't think you were dumb enough to pull something like that." Larkin was fucking fed up with Alex always pulling the tough guy card. He really wasn't as strong as he thought he was, especially not hiding behind a gun. She immediately regretted calling Ricky, she was the one who had put him in danger. But she knew how to use a gun and would spend her last living moments trying to kill Alex. "Listen you piece of shit, get to the fucking point. I'm getting really tired of our little game of cat and mouse."
Regan
Regan's heart stopped the second that the gun came out, and that was really the moment the gravity of what she had gotten herself into. Of course it was at that moment she also realized that she was in way over her head and there was no going back now. And though scared shitless, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at all the bravado going on--yet her lips remained zipped, though mental notes where being taken, and it was going to be a very long and chatty drive back once all this bullshit was over.
Ricky
Ricky's heart sped up, but he was a good poker player and didn't show it. He eyed Alex coolly. "Yeah, Larkin told me you had anger issues. Guess you need that big gun to make up for something? None of my business. Just get that fuckin thing out of my face. Cut the power trip bullshit. And tell me what the fuck is goin on before I fuckin shoot MYSELF."
Alex
Alex rolled his eyes, "I'm getting really tired of the Italians playing it off like their king fucking shit. Sorry to break it to you both; but you're part of the Mafia.. the Mafia. I think you should learn the difference. Because the Mafia is a hell of a lot smaller than the group I would bring on your arse when your little friends do try. I heard they take care of their own; the Cavalli's. The Russian Mob take care of everyone." Alex smirked again, glancing at Ricky. "I'd be more than happy to supply the gun your shooting yourself with. But how about I leave the Irish to do that for me?" Alex's eyes darted back to Larkin. "You heard about the hit they've put out? I'm going to bet 'no' because you're far too calm."
Larkin
"Oh my gooooooood, no one cares about your little band of dickheads." Larkin was getting immature. "If you were really that badass you wouldn't need to constantly brag about it. Your like one of those guys with tiny dicks that drive huge monster trucks and honk the horns as loudly as they can." She frowned at the mention of the Irish. "Yeah, I know they're in Chicago. Nearly killed my uncle and I at the family restaurant. But a hit? A hit on who?"
Regan
"Oh my fucking God, would you all cut the badass 'my dick is bigger than your dick' fronting bullshit and get to the freaking point? If I wanna watch this kind of banter I'll rent the fucking Godfather, Pretty sure we would have gotten the point if the Italian Hulk here hadn't come busting through the damn doors. So Jesus fucking Christ, let the man talk." Regan finally pipped up after growing bored with this little game of tit for tat, folding her arms over her chest and shrugging at the looks cast her way as she zipped her lips once again so the 'grown ups' could talk--her brow furrowing at the talk of hits being put out, well wasn't that just fanfuckingtastic.
Ricky
Ricky shot a glance at the girl, with a tinge of respect this time. "Alright, fine." He looked to Alex. "Alright, hothead, who put out what hit on who?" He reached for Larkin and pulled her closer to him.
Alex
Alex glanced at Regan when her sudden outburst came cascading in their direction. It made him chuckle, this is one of the reason why he trusted the young girl enough to bring her along to a meeting of this importance. Once the deep raspy chuckles slowed, he discharged the gun and slipped it back into his position under his belt. "MacAuley." Alex answered Ricky's question first. "He put a hit out on all the main family's. Italian Mafia.." Alex gestured to little Larkin. "And Russian Mob." He flashed a grin. "So I think it's safe to say we have a common enemy. And I think they might try again. Random deaths are their talents."
Larkin
Larkin turned to Regan and retorted, "Didn't you hear me? I've asked him to get to the fucking point like three times now. He keeps rattling on about how he is the all-powerful Alex Azarov and nobody can touch him. I'm getting pretty bored of that." Larkin turned back to Alex and adopted a mock-cheery voice. "'Wow, we hate the same people! How peachy, this must mean we're best friends now!' They've only threatened to kill me once, whereas you have threatened to murder me in cold blood no less than five times already. I still hate you just as much as I hate them." She was visibly annoyed now. "Now if you wouldn't mind, I do actually have other places to be. Let's hurry it up please. Tell me you didn't just bring me here to give me that little newsflash."
Regan
Regan rolled her eyes and shook her head at Larkin's response, holy God did the girl love the sound of her own voice. "Which is why I addressed everyone to cut the crap," she gave her a pointed look as Alex chuckled, clearly enjoying the sass just as she'd accused him of. Of course, hearing about hits being put out on family members on both sides was distressing, but seeing as she wasn't exactly 'family', she was surely safe, right?
Alex
Alex scoffed at how childish she was taking this realistic threat. "The difference between me and the Irish is; I've threatened to kill you; they've made actual attempts. Which you seem to think is like a fucking playground tat." Alex took a step backwards. "I was going to offer a truce for the time being but seeing as your immature nature can't think of anyone but little ol' Larkin, I won't offer anything. You're on your own, Cavalli. You can fuck off now." He nodded his head towards the doors all of them had come through.
You were in the park as you sat under the big tree and contemplated on what to get for your brother’s birthday. Should you get the latest Supra shoes or that new SNSD album that he bugged you to get for him? Why is it so hard to find the perfect gift? You sighed. And as you looked forward you saw a familiar back view, your brother. You dashed towards him and gave a bone crushing bear hug.
“My baby b-“
“Yah! Get off me!”The man shouted.
Your eyes widened at the realization that you were hugging a stranger. The thought embarrassed you and immediately you broke from the hug. You faced the cute looking guy in front of you. What did I do in my past life to be able to meet a man with such god like features?
You were broken out of your trance when he exclaimed, “You’re a sasaeng aren’t you?”
“Bwoh?” You were shocked. How dare he say that you were a sasaeng? You didn’t even know him. No matter how handsome he is you won’t let him get away with what he just said.
“How dare you call me a sasaeng? I don’t even know you.” Anger started to rise up in you as you continued.
“Tch. I know you’re that type of girl who initiates skin ship to her idol without even thinking. “He looked at me with disgust in his eyes.
With that you blew up on his face and said, “You’re just too cocky. Didn’t you hear me? I don’t know who you are. I thought you were my brother that’s why I accidentally embraced you. “
“Excuses, ex-“
“Just because you’re good looking that doesn’t mean that you’re wanted by
everyone.”
He sighed and said,” You passed the test. I was starting you give up on you.”
“Eh?”You were confused by his remark.
“I’m good looking, right?”He smirked.
“Wha—“
“Well then, would you like to have a date with this good looking man?”He proudly
pointed at himself.
You were speechless was he toying with you?
“Silence means yes.” he grabbed you hand and started to lead you away.
“Wait I don’t know you’re na-“
“Byun Baekhyun imnida. And you?”He interrupted.
“Kang Han Byul imnida“
“Let’s go now shall we?”He asked while giving you his signature eye smile.
Today is definitely the weirdest day of your life but this might be the start of a blossoming relationship.
